Ms. Daisy it’s time for your close-up!

Daisy Bottom Macro 225/365 Project

I was surfing the net last night and came across and article on how to make a Reverse Macro lens with a 50mm lens.  I could have bought a reversal ring for around $10 but where is the fun in that?  I decided I would try it. After all I had some spare parts lying around and I am nothing but frugal.  The making of the ring was the easy part.  Figuring out how to get the best light for the shot was a bit more challenging. I still have some experimenting to do, however, after about 45 bad shots I started to get some really interesting images.  If you are interested in this project, I made a tutorial on my exploits. As always you can view more images on my Flickr page.  Also, the awesome developers at WordPress have implemented a ‘Like’ button at the bottom of this post.  If you don’t want to comment just click a quick like instead 🙂

Snow Shadows 4/365 Project

I went out to shovel the walk today and spotted these nice shadows on the untouched snow.  I ran a whipped cream action from Nelly Nero, a flickr friend, who has created some amazing actions.  I love how the action really made the snow look like cream. You can see more photos made with these actions at her flickr group.

Tree & Shadows 1/365 Project

I have decided to do another 365 project for this year.  As always I have started a bit late, but mainly because I like starting projects on a Monday.  You may ask why do another 365?   I was going to do this last year and decided to wait a year because I didn’t want to get burned out.  It is a really great way for me to investigate and evaluate my photography.  So here we go. You can find the photos here or or the set on flickr.  I will also have a few weeks where I focus on a subject or a theme, however, this first week will be random photos.
