Stacked Saucers

Here is another still life for the week.  These are all of my espresso saucers stacked in a topsy turvy, Dr. Seuss way.  Taken again with my lovely Nifty Fifty and added wallpaper textures. I am having a great time making these images.  They have a certain reflection and mystery about them that I can’t explain.  It might be the tones or the vintage wallpaper.  I am not sure.  I think I will continue to explore these ideas and see where they lead me.

  1. Hi from Twitter! I think we were outnumbered in the Rothko love : )

I really wanted to comment on how much I love this photo. There’s something in the angle of the saucers that almost makes them look like they’re melting into each other (the top three in particular). There is definitely, as you said, an etheral quality to them…almost like you captured a past moment somehow in the present tense. I’m definitely going to take a look at more of your work.

  2. Thanks so much jkc! Rothko is not for everyone, lol. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my work. It is always nice to get feedback 🙂
